FAQ

Using the test bed

This mock conference is living documentation — every room and session pins one streaming path (see the [Test path: …] note on each).

What is this event?

The permanent Earth Coast Productions venue test bed, styled as a real conference. Presenters, partners and sessions are fictional — every one of them exists to exercise one player or routing path in production.

How do I run a real Mux live test?

Admin → the event → Live streams: provision a channel for today's date on the Main Stage room, copy the RTMPS URL + stream key, and point any encoder (OBS, ffmpeg) at it. The room flips from placeholder to live player automatically — no data ops.

  • The venue resolves channels by the event-local calendar day (America/Los_Angeles).
  • Disabling the channel is the instant kill switch.
  • The event window runs past the visible agenda on purpose — the provisioning grid only offers dates inside it; extend end_date when it lapses.
Why do the other rooms autoplay old videos?

They pin known-stable public references (Big Buck Bunny, Vimeo's player demo, Mux's public HLS test stream) so each player path can be verified without any broadcast running.
