Joining the Platform

for Attendees

This tutorial will cover the information and steps necessary to join the event virtual platform and participate at the event.

How do I access a session?

The "Join The Session" button links will be viewable to attendees, the links will appear as we get closer to the event. The "Join" buttons will be visible in the description under each individual session in the Agenda. If there are no buttons visible, then it is not yet time for that event.

Registration Process: Step-by-step

Step #1: Visit the event landing page and click on the registration button:

Step #2: You will be redirected to the event ticketing page.

  • Select the ticket type you would like to purchase / register
  • Type in your email and click the "CONTINUE" button

Step #3: Fill out your Full name, and Phone number

Step #4: You will be redirected to the Successful Registration page

  • Make sure to click on the "Take Me To Event" button to continue

Step #5: You will be redirected to the Event Platform page

  • Type in the email you used during ticket registration process
  • Click on the "Continue" button

Step #6: You will receive a four-digit confirmation code in your inbox, copy/paste it into the platform

  • Click on the "Verify" button to continue

Step #7: Create your account password and click on the "Login" button

Step #8: Complete your attendee/participant profile to continue

NOTE: anything marked with an asterisk * is a required field

  • Click on the profile image to upload your photo/headshot
  • Click the "Next" button on the bottom of the page, once you have filled-in all information

Step #9: Select the Cover image of your choice and click "Finish"

Step #10: Confirm your Language & Time zone and click "Save" to continue

Step #11: Watch the Welcome video to learn important information about the event and the platform

Step #12: Explore the platform and enjoy the event!

Where can I login or reset my password?

To login to the event platform:

  1. Visit the event page, the link to the event page will be in the Welcome email.
  2. Type in your email address.
  3. You will receive a four-digit confirmation code in your inbox, copy/paste it into the platform.
  4. Click on the "Verify" button to continue

How do I upload my profile picture?

Step #1: Click on the Profile image circle in the upper right

Step #2: Select "Edit Profile" option

Step #3: Click on the Profile image / the Edit Pencil to upload a custom image

Step #4: Select the image from your computer to upload as your profile photo

Step #5: Crop the image to a square are and click "Crop and Save"

Where can I learn more about navigating and using the event platform?

On the event page for the event you are attending you will notice a Welcome Video area towards the bottom of the page, click on the video to play it. This video will explain important information about the event, as well, as the key features and areas of the platform and how to use it.

How do I join or watch a session?

Step #1: Go to the Agenda in the top menu and then navigate to your session and click on "Join Session" button.

Once you click on Join Session, the streamed session will open and you will be able to watch the event. There will be no camera / microphone access for you as an attendee. 

As an Attendee, you will be able to interact using the Chat that appears on the Right Hand Menu Bar and ask questions using the Q&A.

Now you can watch the session! View the Speaker profiles, chat with the attendees and speakers in the Live Chat. 

I am on a live session, but having video/audio issues.

If you are experiencing issue while watching and participating during a session or on the platform overall, here are some steps to try:

  1. Camera & Mic: Please ensure you have enabled camera and mic permissions for this page
  2. Refresh the page: Most issues could be due to a temporary glitch and get resolved by a quick browser refresh
  3. Leave and rejoin: If the issue still persists, try leaving and rejoining the Platform
  4. Switch Network: VPNs and Firewall enabled networks could block some functionalities of the Platform. Try switching to a different network
  5. Browser Version: the Platform is best experienced in the latest version of Chrome on a laptop/Desktop. Kindly upgrade the browser or switch to a Laptop/Desktop if issue persists.

Do you really only support Chrome, why not my other favorite browser?

The event platform uses the latest in live video media technologies.

The platform is best experienced in the latest version of Chrome, as Chrome or Chromium based browsers include the latest audio visual technologies "baked-in".

You can try using the following browsers (provided you are using the latest version of these as well), but your experience may vary:

  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Chromium
  • Edge
  • Opera

How do I access the event platform on my phone/mobile?

The platform has a mobile ready version that is accessible from the mobile Chrome browser.

Please ensure that you have the Chrome browser installed on your phone/mobile device.

Step #1: Go to the event link on your phone. (The link will be in your welcome email.)

Step #2: Paste in the four-digit code that was emailed to you, at the next prompt.

Step #3: You will be presented with the Welcome Video at the Reception Area, this is a full overview of the event.
